| About Deflorio Fashion
Franca Deflorio grew up in Bari, Italy which is in the Southeast
part of the country. Franca's extensive education in Italy taught her to be a
fashion designer, where she designed woman's dresses for over 14 years.
Franca founded her own successful fashion design business that kept her very
busy. Designing and selling woman's wedding dresses in Bari and traveling to
Rome, Florence and Milan. During her years as a fashion designer she dreamed of
living in America. Fascinated by all things American lead her to Chicago,
where she was excepted at Harper College as an international student. At Harper
College Franca received a Certificate in English language then she earned
degree in Fashion Design. She was able to accomplish all this in a short three
year period. Franca's time at Harper has been one of the best experiences of
her life. Giving her a new inspiration for design and being able to share her
life experience with budding fashion designers. She has been able to combine
her old world traditional pattern making and illustration techniques with a new
world visual poetry that makes her work unique never seen before creations.
Franca Deflorio's designs have been described as "Victorian with a modern
21st century look"
